What is the difference between iLumina UPGRADES and UPDATES?

An upgrade is the discounted price you can get between major product revisions (for example, from 1.0 to 2.0). So if you bought the original iLumina 1.0, you can get iLumina Gold Upgrade or 2.0 Basic Upgrade for a reduced price.

An update is for minor product revisions (for example, 2.0 to 2.1). They're usually free of charge, and downloadable from a website.

1.1 Updaters were released in Dec 2002 for those who had iLumina 1.0 and Left Behind iLumina.
2.1 Updaters were released in Nov 2003 for those who have either iLumina Gold or iLumina 2.0 Basic. NOTE: both iLumina Gold and 2.0 Basic are completely new, and are both major product revisions.

Which one do I need?

If you purchased iLumina Gold or iLumina Gold Upgrade, the iLumina Gold 2.1 Updater is a free download for you.
If you purchased iLumina 2.0 Basic or iLumina 2.0 Basic Upgrade, you can download the iLumina Basic 2.1 Updater.
If you purchased the original iLumina (but not Gold or 2.0 Basic), the iLumina 1.1 Updater is a free download for you.
If you purchased Left Behind iLumina, you can download the Left Behind iLumina 1.1 Updater.
